1.  How did your career in the vineyard begin? 

I am 3rd generation grape grower. I completed a diploma in wine marketing at Roseworthy and then came home to help my parents develop the vineyards.

2.  When were the first grapes planted? 

On our main property where I live now, We started planting in 1997.

3.  What is the history of your vineyard? 

My parents purchased the property in 1997, prior to this the property was bare irrigated land mostly planted to rockmelons by the previous owner.

4. What grapes are on your property? 

Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Chardonnay.

5.  What is the secret to growing good grapes? 

Good management, consistent irrigation and fertilisers. Mother nature has the final say.

6.  Favourite varieties to work with and why?

Shiraz, possibly because it’s the most consistent and who doesn’t like a good shiraz.

7.  Favourite memory in the vineyard?

Teaching my girls to show an interest in what I do, they use to know each patch to variety. (Although I doubt they do any more)

8.  Favourite food and wine pairing? 

I love to cook so a slow roasted beef rib with a good Barossa Shiraz.
